The Seminar on “Generative Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education” Organized by Our Center Attracted Great Attention
As digital transformation in education accelerates today, artificial intelligence technologies have become an important agenda item in higher education. In this context, the seminar titled “Generative Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: A Savior Descending from the Sky or Our Own Executioner?” organized under the leadership of our University’s Center for Excellence in Education and Teaching was held on April 10, 2025 with the intense participation of faculty members and students.
The invited speaker of the seminar, Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Aras BOZKURT, who leads the field at national / international levels with his academic studies and seminars in the field of artificial intelligence, made a comprehensive presentation on the place, potential and future vision of generative artificial intelligence technologies in education. Prof. Dr. BOZKURT drew attention to the fact that generative artificial intelligence is a transformative force not only in the field of technology; but also in learning, teaching, evaluation processes and academic research.
In the seminar, which attracted great interest from the participants, important discussions were held on the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence, its relationship with the principles of academic honesty and its integration into teaching processes. Questions and contributions, especially from faculty members and students, ensured that the seminar was interactive and productive.
Our University's Director of the Center for Excellence in Education and Training, Prof. Dr. Ersin KARADEMİR, emphasized that steps should be taken in accordance with the requirements of the age when setting out with the goal of excellence in education and training, and stated that such events will continue to increase in the coming period. He emphasized that using the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in a correct, ethical and creative way has become a necessity, not a choice, for higher education institutions.
